Brazil: Jewel of the Amazon

The diamond lode on the Roosevelt Indian Reservation could be the largest in the world. Under Brazilian law, mining is illegal on indigenous lands, but over the past five years the Roosevelt reserve has been the center of a multi-billion dollar clandestine diamond trade. That trade was dramatically exposed last April when 29 miners were massacred by the reservation's Indians, the Cinta Larga.
